We are so excited to welcome you back at Chef’s Special on our patio! Safety is our number one priority, which means there’s a few things you should know before you dine with us. Please keep an open mind to this new style of service. Also feel free to reach out here to give us feedback on how to improve these systems and safety measures. We will continue to do our best to offer the most hospitable experience while prioritizing safety.

  • All guests will be required to wear a mask when checking in with our host, when interacting with your server, and when entering the building to use the restroom.
  • All guests will be required to complete a temperature check and a signed form assuring they are in good standing health. This form states the guest has not been in contact with someone that has had COVID-19 in the last two weeks, has not traveled to states with high risk warnings in the last two weeks, and has not experienced symptoms related to COVID-19 in the past two weeks. *We recommend you arrive a little early to allow time for check-in* Click HERE to see form.

A few notes about how our patio service works:

  • All guests will arrive at our main entrance on Western Ave. to check-in for their reservation. A host will be at the door to greet you, administer the health check and direct you to your table.
  • We ask groups to enter the building one at a time. If guests are already inside please wait until they leave before entering.
  • All tables will be cleared and sanitized between each group. Plates, glasses, utensils, menu cards will be delivered by server after you are seated.
  • All food and beverage will be delivered contactless to the table via a drop off zone, which guests will bring back to their table themselves.
  • All interactions with your server will take place through one of our windows on Palmer or with 6 ft of social distancing.
  • All guests will receive hand sanitizer for their table, which we encourage you to use throughout your experience.
  • All parties will have a two hour time limit. Thank you for understanding this restriction; we only have 5 tables and are trying to limit any overlap in guest’s arrival.
  • All guests have the option for contactless payment, via a QR square on the bottom of their receipt, which will still be presented at the end of your meal. You will still have the option to pay traditionally with a credit card or cash.
  • A service charge of 5% will be added to all parties on the patio. That amount goes towards paying our employees a high hourly wage, while also contributing to keep them covered on our insurance policy. Thank you for helping us stay safe during your experience.

Currently, we will only be open for take-out and dinner service on our patio. We do not have indoor dining. There is an awning over our patio, but under more severe rain it may not cover your table and guests sufficiently.
Each day 2 hours before service we will check the weather. When weather conditions post a 70% or greater chance of rain we will cancel reservations joining us on the patio and reschedule for a coming week. Reservations will only be taken 2 weeks in advance. We will give priority to any guests whose reservations were cancelled due to rain.
If you are joining us on the patio and it begins to rain to the point you have to depart early, then we will offer to pack your food to go as well.

As we are reservation only with 5 tables at the moment, we ask that you be extra communicative with changes to your reservation. We understand that now more than ever life takes unforeseen turns. If you need to cancel, please give us as much notice as possible.
Anyone cancels in less than 24hrs or does not show to their reservation without cancelling will be charged a $20/ per person fee.
